Description

Syngonium is a popular tropical houseplant known for its attractive arrow-shaped leaves in shades of green, white, pink, and cream. Easy to care for, it adds a fresh, tropical touch to indoor spaces.

💧 Watering

Water when the top 2–3cm of soil feels dry. Keep lightly moist during summer, avoiding waterlogging.

☀️ Light

Prefers bright, indirect light but tolerates medium light. Protect from Malta’s strong direct sunlight.

🍃 Foliage / Growth

Produces attractive arrow-shaped leaves that change shape as the plant matures. Can grow as a compact, trailing, or climbing plant.

🪴 Potting Mix

Use a well-draining houseplant mix enriched with perlite. Ensure the pot has drainage holes.

🌿 Fertilizer

Feed every 4 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer.

🐕🐈 Pet Safety

Toxic to cats and dogs. Contains calcium oxalate crystals that can cause mouth irritation, drooling, and vomiting if chewed.

Syngonium has shown some pollutant removal in laboratory studies, but its effect in normal homes is limited. Primarily valued for its decorative foliage.
