The Egyptians and Babylonians already cultivated it 4000 years ago, it seems it was one of the first vegetables to be used as a nutritional source.

Radishes are one of those very easy-to-grow vegetables. They grow very well on well-drained loose soils exposed to the sun and with a cool and temperate climate.
Watering must be abundant, in fact it is necessary to avoid that the earth dries out too much otherwise they become spicier and the root more woody. If you want the pulp to remain crunchy, they must be collected from the ground when they are about 2.5 cm in diameter and the leaves can be eaten as a salad.

The properties of radishes are numerous: they promote diuresis and purification of the body, they are indicated in cases of digestive disorders and gallstones, they help the immune system and improve respiratory function in case of bronchitis, asthma and lung diseases.
