Origin: The habanero pepper originates from the Amazon region and was spread to Mexico and the Caribbean.
Heat Level (SHU): Ranges from 100,000 to 350,000 SHU.
Comparison: It can be up to 140 times hotter than a jalapeño.
Appearance: Small, lantern-shaped pods, typically 2-6 cm long. They ripen from green to bright red when mature.
Flavor: Sweet, fruity, and intensely pungent.
Uses: Commonly used in hot sauces, salsas, and marinades. Can be roasted, grilled, sautéed, or added to soups and stews for a spicy kick. Also used in desserts like cheesecake or brownies for a unique twist.
