💧 Watering
Water every 10–14 days in spring and summer, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings.
In winter, water once every 3–4 weeks.
Highly drought-tolerant, overwatering leads to rot.

☀️ Sunlight
Prefers full sun to very bright light.
In Malta, ideal for sunny terraces, balconies, and bright indoor locations.
Tolerates partial shade but grows best in strong sun.

🍃 Foliage / 🌸 Flowering
Thick, spiny trunk with a crown of long, narrow green leaves.
Can reach 2–4 m in pots and much taller in the ground.
Produces large white, fragrant flowers in summer when mature.
Grown mainly for its sculptural, architectural form.

🪴 Potting Mix
Use a fast-draining cactus/succulent mix with added sand or pumice.
Always use pots with excellent drainage.

🌿 Fertilizer
Feed once a month during spring and summer with a diluted cactus fertilizer.
Do not fertilize in winter.

🚫🐕🐈 Pet Safety
Highly toxic to cats, dogs, and humans if ingested.
Sap is irritating to skin and eyes; spines can also cause injury. Keep well out of reach of pets and children.

Provides light air-purifying benefits in bright indoor environments.

🌿 Additional Notes
Exceptionally well suited to Malta’s hot, dry summers.
Very cold-sensitive, protect below 10–12°C.
Loses leaves naturally in winter (normal dormancy).

Excellent as a statement plant for patios, pool areas, and modern interiors.
