Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, especially during the dry Maltese spring and summer. In pots, it may require daily watering during heatwaves to prevent the delicate stems from wilting.

☀️ Light
It thrives in full sun to partial shade, though in Malta, some afternoon shade is beneficial to prevent the plant from “burning out” in July and August. More sun generally leads to a denser carpet of more fragrant blooms.

🍃 Foliage / Growth
This plant has a beautiful trailing or mounding habit with narrow, grayish-green leaves. If it begins to look “leggy” or stops flowering in the peak heat, a quick trim by half will often trigger a fresh flush of growth and blooms.

🪴 Potting Mix
Use a standard, well-draining potting soil; it isn’t overly fussy but does not like sitting in stagnant water. A mix that retains a little moisture while allowing excess to drain freely is ideal for the Maltese climate.

🌿 Fertilizer
Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every two to three weeks during the growing season to maintain its prolific flowering. Avoid high-nitrogen feeds, as this will result in more green leaves than the iconic honey-scented flowers.
