Description
Light: Requires high light, ideally 6-8 hours of direct to bright, indirect sunlight, especially to maintain its red color.
Watering: Water only when the soil is completely dry, which may be every 2–3 weeks, and significantly reduce watering in winter.
Soil: Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix, ideally amended with extra perlite or sand.
Safety: The plant produces a white, milky sap that is poisonous and causes skin irritation; wear gloves and wash immediately if it contacts the skin.
Propagation: Easily propagated from stem cuttings (allow to dry for 3–7 days to callus).
This drought-tolerant plant is ideal for sunny windowsills and, if well-cared for, can reach up to 1-2 meters indoors.
