Description

💧 Watering
Water every 10–14 days during spring and summer, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.
In winter, reduce to once every 3–4 weeks.
Extremely drought-tolerant, overwatering is the main danger.

☀️ Sunlight
Thrives in full sun to very bright light.
In Malta, perfect for sunny terraces, balconies, gardens, and bright indoor areas.
Tolerates partial shade but grows best in strong sun.

🍃 Foliage / 🌸 Flowering
Leafless most of the time; decorative appeal comes from its tall, ribbed, branching green stems.
Can reach 4–6 m outdoors and 2–3 m in large containers.
Produces small, yellowish flowers at the tips in warm seasons (not ornamental).

🪴 Potting Mix
Use a very fast-draining cactus/succulent mix with added sand or pumice.
Pots must have excellent drainage to prevent rot.

🌿 Fertilizer
Feed once a month in spring and summer with a diluted cactus fertilizer.
Do not fertilize in winter.

🚫🐕🐈 Pet Safety
Highly toxic to cats, dogs, and humans if ingested.
Milky sap is extremely irritating to skin and eyes — always handle with gloves.
Keep well out of reach of pets and children.

Perfectly adapted to Malta’s hot, dry summers and coastal conditions.
