Asparagus densiflorus ‘Myers’ (commonly called Foxtail Fern) is a hardy ornamental plant with dense, feathery fronds. It does very well in Mediterranean climate, both indoors (with bright light) and outdoors.

Description

💧 Watering

Water once weekly in summer; allow the topsoil to dry slightly between waterings.

Reduce watering in winter; drought-tolerant once established.

Thrives in full sun to partial shade.

In Malta, best with morning sun and afternoon shade to prevent scorch.

Evergreen with dense, feathery “foxtail” fronds.

Small white flowers in summer, followed by red berries.

Well-draining soil with compost and sand.

Tolerates slightly alkaline (limestone) soil.

Light feeding is sufficient; avoid over-fertilizing.
