Beautiful Succulents for Indoors!

If you practice gardening and are a plant lover, succulents cannot be missing in your home! Succulents are great for your apartment, which furnish and “illuminate” your rooms.

The maintenance of these plants is quite simple since they need little quantities of water. They adapt well to any type of climate which makes it possible to grow succulents without many problems.

The succulents, besides having very specific shapes, when they bloom, they produce inflorescences which are usually medium to large and multicolored. There are lots of different shades of flowers and vary from bright red to deep purple. Thanks to this feature, succulents are very popular and during flowering (which occurs especially in summer), they make every apartment lively and cheerful!

All species of succulents survive for a long time and are evergreen, regardless of the climatic zone in which they are found. Even if they prefer high temperatures and a high humidity rate, they can survive cold and dry winters. And so, it is precisely for this reason that it is not necessary to take care of them as much as you would have to for other types of plants.

You can find and buy the succulents inside the nursery, where they are sold individually in small pots, baskets and also in magnificent compositions.

Here are some types of succulents that can be conveniently stored at home and that will give a touch of green to the environment!

Indoor Cactus

The Cactus is an ornamental succulent which is very popular due to it’s attractive shape. It grows vertically and horizontally, forming thick clusters of thorny stems.

In addition, these plants bloom producing voluminous and colourful inflorescences. Even cacti, originating in steppes and desert areas, need little water to survive and withstand arid climates very well.

African Violet

The first time you see a jar with a specimen of African Violet inside, the idea that immediately comes to mind first is that it is not a succulent plant, but a common vegetable. This is because Saintpaulia (its scientific name), which is part of the Gesneriaceae family, produces very particular and colourful flowers, similar to violets.

To keep this plant healthy, it must be watered moderately and kept in a warm and sunny environment.

Like all succulents, in case you want to repot, you will have to wait for the winter season, during which most of these plants are in the resting phase.

Ponytail Palm

This particular houseplant is an evergreen specimen and doesn’t require a lot of care. It prefers sunny environments and must be watered once a week. Its scientific name is Beaucarnea and one of its main characteristics is given by the fact that once watered, it is able to retain water inside the lower part of the stem. In this way, in nature, it resists periods of drought.

The term “smoke-eating plant” was given to it because it is able to clean the air from odours, smoke and chemicals. In addition to making your apartment “greener”, this vegetable will also purify the domestic air!

Aloe Vera

You probably have already heard of the various benefits of using Aloe Vera, which are that this succulent plant has exceptional properties, such as, for example, healing and emollient and also nourishing. In addition, its aesthetic appearance is very fun and will make your apartment more beautiful!
