Description

A true kitchen workhorse, the Cayenne is beloved worldwide for its reliable heat and slender, wrinkled pods. Growing to about 10–15cm in length, these peppers start dark green and ripen to a brilliant, glossy red. They are arguably the easiest chili to dry for homemade chili flakes or for grinding into your own signature hot spice powder.

Planting & Care Instructions

When to Plant: Transplant outdoors after the last frost once the soil has thoroughly warmed up.

Where to Plant: Requires a warm, sunny position. Excellent in open garden soil or large containers (minimum 5–10 liters per plant).

Spacing: 40–50cm apart to ensure good airflow.

Pro-Tip: If you want to dry them for storage, leave the peppers on the plant until they are deep red and firm to the touch, or even start to lose their sheen.
