Description
💧 Watering
Water once or twice a week during spring–summer, allowing the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry before watering again.
In winter, reduce watering to every 10–14 days.
Avoid waterlogged soil, roots are sensitive to excess moisture.
☀️ Sunlight
Prefers bright, indirect light for best color.
In Malta, grows beautifully in bright indoor spaces or shaded terraces.
Some morning or late-afternoon sun enhances its pink tones; avoid harsh midday rays.
🍃 Foliage / 🌸 Flowering
Compact, trailing plant with striped leaves in pink, purple, and green hues.
Occasionally produces small white or pink flowers.
Excellent as a hanging plant, shelf accent, or ground cover.
🪴 Potting Mix
Use a well-draining potting mix; peat, perlite, and compost blend.
Tolerates slightly acidic to neutral soil.
🌿 Fertilizer
Feed every 4–6 weeks during active growth (spring–summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength.
Do not over-fertilize, too much can fade leaf color.
🚫🐕🐈 Pet Safety
Mildly toxic to cats and dogs if ingested (can cause mouth or stomach irritation).
Keep out of reach of pets.
🌬️ Air Purifying ✅
Helps clean indoor air and increases humidity, especially in enclosed spaces.
🌿 Additional Notes
Pinch back tips regularly to encourage bushier growth and maintain shape.
Avoid letting stems sit in water, this causes rot.
Prefers warm temperatures (18–26°C) and moderate humidity.
Ideal for indoor shelves, hanging baskets, or shaded Maltese balconies.
