Description
Tetra Malawi Granules are particularly suitable as a staple food for all herbivorous cichlids, such as the algae eaters from the mbuna group. The high-quality mixture of the three algae species spirulina (20 %), nori (17 %) and chlorella (3 %) is specially designed to meet the needs of these fish. There are several reasons for this: For example, mbuna cichlids in the wild continuously graze algae-covered stones and rocks. It is vital for this fish species to eat incessantly in order to cover their daily energy requirements with the relatively nutrient-poor algae. In an aquarium, the feeding behaviour of the animals does not change. This means: the fish greedily eat everything that is offered to them. With very energy-rich food, however, this behaviour quickly leads to obesity. It is therefore all the more important that a food for mbuna cichlids is rich in all important nutrients and vitamins, but does not lead to obesity. Tetra Malawi Granules meet exactly these criteria: The protein-rich algae Spirulina platensis supports the immune system of the cichlids, the algae Chlorella is rich in essential fatty acids and the Nori algae additionally provide the fish with important dietary fibre and minerals. The food is thus rich in vegetable proteins and important nutrients, which promotes both the digestion and the vitality of the cichlids. The protein-rich algae spirulina is supplemented by two other algae species as a food ingredient. All in all, Tetra Malawi Granules are therefore particularly suitable as a staple food for all herbivorous cichlids of the mbuna group, but all other cichlids are also well supplied with the food.
