Description
Prunus cerasifera ‘Pissardii’ is an attractive deciduous ornamental tree admired for its deep purple foliage and delicate pale-pink spring blossoms. Its striking colours make it a beautiful feature tree for gardens and landscaping.
💧 Watering
Water regularly while establishing. Once established, it tolerates short dry periods but benefits from deep watering during Malta’s hot summers.
☀️ Light
Thrives in full sun for the richest purple foliage. Suitable for sunny Maltese gardens with adequate summer watering.
🍃 Foliage / Growth
Produces dark purple-red leaves and masses of delicate pink flowers in early spring. May occasionally develop small plum-like fruits and loses its leaves in winter.
🪴 Potting Mix
Prefers fertile, well-draining soil enriched with compost. Avoid waterlogged conditions.
🌿 Fertilizer
