The habanero chocolat is among the hottest chilli species in the world (425,000 SHU or scoville unit), also known as Black Congo, it belongs to the Caspicum chinense family and is native to Jamaica. It produces lantern-shaped hanging chillies that mature from green to brown and have a height that varies from 4 to 6 cm and a width that varies from 2.5 to 5 cm. The habaneroloves the heat and consequently the best results will be obtained if it is transplanted in late spring when the temperatures rise. The chillies reach full maturity, only in favorable conditions, after 120 days from transplanting. After harvesting, they are used in the kitchen with caution given the great ability to make foods spicy, as a small piece is enough to season an entire dish, also used for the preparation of spicy sauces, spicy oils or to season Mexican foods. Perfect for those who love to eat spicy.
