Description
Unlike many of its prickly pear relatives, this species is frequently spineless, making it a popular choice for collectors who want the “paddle” look without the sharp needles. Its name, derived from the Latin inamœnus, ironically means “unpleasant,” likely referring to the tiny, irritating glochids (hair-like prickles) it can still possess despite lacking large spines.
