Description
Light: Requires bright light to maintain its color and shape. It thrives in full sun or strong indirect light, though some midday shade is beneficial in extremely hot climates to prevent scorching.
Watering: Follow a “soak and dry” method. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, especially in winter when it should be kept mostly dry.
Soil: Must be planted in a sharply draining cactus or succulent mix containing sand, grit, or perlite to prevent root rot.
Temperature: Best kept between 18–28°C (65–82°F). It is not frost-hardy and should be protected from temperatures below 10°C (50°F).
Propagation: Easily grown from stem or leaf cuttings. Let the cut surface callus (dry) for a few days before placing it on a well-draining substrate.
