Overwatering can cause root rot, especially in pots.

☀️ Sunlight

In Malta, perfect for sunny terraces, patios, and outdoor containers.
Can tolerate light shade but grows slower and flowers less.

🍃 Foliage / 🌸 Flowering
Glossy green leaves on long stems above a swollen, bottle-like trunk.
Produces clusters of bright red flowers in spring–summer.
Grown mainly for its sculptural caudex and ornamental flowers.

🪴 Potting Mix
Use a fast-draining cactus/succulent mix with added sand or perlite.
Ensure excellent drainage in pots.

🌿 Fertilizer
Feed once a month in spring and summer with a diluted succulent or cactus fertilizer.
Do not fertilize in winter.

🚫🐕🐈 Pet Safety
Highly toxic to cats, dogs, and humans if ingested.
All parts of the plant can cause gastrointestinal irritation and other symptoms.
Keep away from pets and children.

🌿 Additional Notes
Perfect for Malta’s warm, dry climate.
Protect from temperatures below 10–12°C.
Excellent as a statement container plant, sculptural garden feature, or patio plant.
