Description

💧 Watering
Water lightly into the central cup (“vase”) and keep it 1/3 full.
Empty and refresh the cup every 1–2 weeks to prevent stagnation.
Lightly moisten soil but avoid keeping it soggy.
In Malta’s heat, mist occasionally to maintain humidity.

☀️ Sunlight
Prefers bright, indirect light.
Avoid direct sun which can fade or burn the bracts.

🍃 Foliage / 🌸 Flowering
Bright bracts last 3–6 months.
After flowering, the mother plant slowly declines and produces pups which can be repotted.

🪴 Potting Mix
Use a bromeliad mix or a very airy blend: orchid bark + peat + perlite.
Requires excellent drainage.

🌿 Fertilizer
Feed monthly in spring/summer with a diluted bromeliad or orchid fertilizer.
Avoid getting fertilizer in the central cup, mist the leaves or soil-feed instead.
