Description

Discover the delicate charm of the Dwarf Gladiolus Nanus. While traditional gladioli are known for their towering height, the Nanus variety offers a more compact and refined silhouette, making it an excellent choice for windier spots or smaller garden spaces. These “miniature sword lilies” produce graceful flower spikes with a soft, artistic look, featuring a mix of romantic pinks, purples, whites, and bicolors.

Key Features for Malta:

Compact & Graceful: Reaching a manageable 40–60 cm, they are perfect for the middle of flower beds or for adding a touch of elegance to terrace pots.

Wind Resistant: Because they are shorter than standard gladioli, they are much less likely to “topple over” during the breezy days common in Malta.

Extended Bloom Season: Enjoy flowers from June through September, providing a long-lasting splash of color throughout the Maltese summer.

Naturalizing: These hardy bulbs are known for being more resilient and can often be left in the ground to multiply and return year after year.

Expert Planting Tips for our Customers:

Versatile Placement: Ideal for rock gardens, along garden paths, or as a focal point in decorative containers.

Planting Depth: Plant corms approximately 8–10 cm deep. For a lush look, plant them in groups of 5 to 7.

Sun & Soil: Like all gladioli, they love a sunny spot but require well-draining soil to keep the bulbs healthy.

No Staking Needed: One of the biggest advantages of the Dwarf variety is that they rarely require staking, unlike their taller cousins.

Elegant Cut Flowers: Their smaller size makes them perfect for smaller, more delicate vase arrangements inside the home.

Position: Full Sun (prefers bright, warm locations).

Hardiness: Perennial / Hardy (Naturalizes well in Malta).
