Known for having one of the most delightful fragrances in the plant world, these “extra-thick” bulbs produce elegant, funnel-shaped flowers on slender stems. This bulk pack of 50 bulbs offers an explosion of colors—including reds, yellows, whites, and blues—perfect for creating a sensory paradise on your terrace or in your garden borders.

Key Features for Malta:

Superior Bulb Quality: These “extra-thick” bulbs ensure vigorous growth and a high volume of blooms throughout the summer season.

Legendary Fragrance: A single cluster of Freesias can perfume an entire corner of your garden or a whole room when used as cut flowers.

Compact & Versatile: Growing to a height of 20-39cm, they are ideal for front-of-border planting, window boxes, or decorative pots.

Long Bloom Window: With a flowering period spanning from May to October, you’ll enjoy continuous color and scent for months.

Great for Cutting: Freesias are a florist’s favorite; with 50 bulbs, you will have plenty of stems to create beautiful, fragrant indoor arrangements.

Expert Tips for Growing Freesias in Malta:

Sunshine is Essential: Freesias love the sun. Plant them in a spot that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight to ensure strong stems and prolific flowering.

Planting Depth & Spacing: Plant the bulbs (corms) about 5cm deep and 5-8cm apart with the “pointed” end facing upwards.

Well-Draining Soil: They do not like “wet feet.” In Malta, ensure your pots have plenty of drainage holes and use a gritty, free-draining compost mix.

Support for Stems: As the plants grow, the slender stems may need light support (like small twigs or a low decorative wire) to keep the flower heads upright, especially in windy coastal areas.

Watering: Water regularly during the growing season, but allow the top layer of soil to dry out between waterings to prevent the corms from rotting.

Color: Mixed (Rainbow of Colors).

Bloom Time: May – October.

Height: 20 – 39 cm.

Planting Time: March – May.
