Description

💧 Watering
Water once every 7–10 days in warm months; allow the top 3–5 cm of soil to dry first.
In winter, reduce to every 12–15 days.
Avoid overwatering, sensitive to root rot.

☀️ Sunlight
Prefers bright, indirect light for best leaf colour.
Tolerates partial shade.
Avoid direct Maltese midday sun, which can scorch leaves.

🍃 Foliage / Growth
Upright cane plant with slender, arching variegated leaves.
Slow to moderate growth; can reach 1.5–2 m indoors.
Grown for its decorative foliage (flowers are rare indoors).

🪴 Potting Mix
Use a well-draining indoor plant mix with added perlite or sand.
Repot every 2–3 years or when root-bound.

🌿 Fertilizer
Feed every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
Do not fertilize in winter.

Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested (may cause vomiting and drooling). Keep out of reach of pets.

Notes
Thrives in temperatures 18–30°C, ideal for Maltese interiors.
Avoid cold drafts and air-conditioning directly on the plant.
