The Citron Maxima (Citrus medica) is a particular variety of Citron, with dark green and very vigorous foliage. The large fruits can exceed 1kg, when ripe they take on a deep yellow color and are very fragrant. The skin is somewhat spongy, slightly bitter, and very rich in vitamins.
