Description

Add a vibrant explosion of tropical color to your garden with our Mixed Canna Lily Collection. This value pack provides a surprise assortment of stunning blooms, ranging from fiery reds and glowing oranges to bright yellows and soft pinks. Paired with lush, wide green foliage, these plants are the ultimate “instant landscape” solution for the Maltese climate, bringing a holiday resort feel to any backyard or balcony.

Key Features for Malta:

Proven Performance: Cannas are exceptionally well-suited to the Maltese heat. They are vigorous growers that can withstand the intense summer sun better than most flowering plants.

Bloom Time: A very long flowering season from July until the first cold snaps of November.

Height: This specific mix is slightly more compact than the dark-leaved variety, reaching 60–80 cm. This makes them sturdier in wind and excellent for medium-sized pots.

Versatility: They love water, making them perfect for planting near garden taps or irrigation overflows, but they are also quite resilient once established.

Expert Planting Tips for our Customers:

Sunlight: For the most prolific flowering, plant in Full Sun. They can grow in partial shade, but you will get more leaves and fewer flowers.

Planting Time: In Malta, you can plant these as early as March to get a head start on the growing season.

Spacing: Space rhizomes about 30 cm apart. They will spread over time to create a dense, colorful hedge.

Deadheading: To keep the plant looking tidy and encourage new flower spikes, cut off the old flower stalks once they have faded.

Position: Full Sun (Highly Recommended).

Hardiness: Perennial in Malta (No need to lift the bulbs in winter).

Soil: Prefers rich, moist soil; thrives with regular composting.
