💧 Watering
Water every 14–20 days in spring and summer, only when soil is completely dry.
In winter, reduce to once every 4–6 weeks.
Very drought tolerant, overwatering causes rot.

☀️ Sunlight
Prefers full sun to very bright light.
In Malta, ideal for sunny terraces, patios, balconies, and outdoor gardens.
Can tolerate light partial shade but grows best in strong sun.

🍃 Foliage / 🌸 Flowering
Upright, columnar growth with deep ribs and sharp spines.
Mature plants may produce large white nocturnal flowers in summer (rare in pots).
Grown mainly for its sculptural height and desert character.

🪴 Potting Mix
Use an extra-fast draining cactus/succulent mix with high sand or grit content.
Pots must have excellent drainage holes.

🌿 Fertilizer
Feed once a month in spring and summer with a diluted cactus fertilizer.
Do not fertilize in winter.

🐕🐈 Pet Safety
Non-toxic to cats and dogs, but spines can cause serious injury if touched or chewed.
Keep out of reach of pets and children.

Perfect for Malta’s hot, dry climate.
Protect from temperatures below 8–10°C.
Very slow-growing but long-lived.
Excellent as a statement cactus in modern landscapes and patios.
