Description

Arlita is nothing more than balls of expanded clay at high temperatures, red in color and very low density. It is used on the surface as a decorative effect and as a base in planters and pots, for better drainage.

With a granulometry of between 5 and 16mm, and a density that ranges between 325kg/m3 and 750kg/m3, clay has multiple uses in the field of gardening and construction.

Clay keeps the soil moist for much longer and is recommended for hot and/or sunny places. By using clay, the soil conserves moisture and makes it less necessary to water as frequently. So we can say that clay helps us save water costs.

To save water, it is advisable to place a layer of clay balls on the surface of pots that are in semi-shade. You should never put clay on a plant that is in the sun, since doing so could cause the roots to burn.

In addition, the clay can be used as a decorative element.

Another function of clay is to prevent roots from rotting, improves soil drainage, protects plants from the cold and prevents weeds from growing.
