Description
💧 Water (Hydroponic Care)
Only roots must sit in water, not the stem or crown.
Change water every 7–10 days to prevent bacteria buildup.
Use filtered or rainwater when possible (Malta’s hard water can leave residue).
Rinse roots gently at every water change.
☀️ Sunlight
Prefers bright, indirect light.
Avoid direct sun, especially Maltese midday sun, which can scorch leaves and flowers.
Ideal for bright indoor spaces or shaded balconies.
🌸 Flowering / 🍃 Foliage
Produces long-lasting waxy spathes (red, pink, white, or green).
Glossy green leaves remain decorative year-round.
Blooms last several weeks with proper care.
🌿 Fertilizer (Very Important)
Add hydroponic liquid fertilizer at ¼ strength
once every 3–4 weeks only.
Over-fertilizing causes root burn and cloudy water.
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
Ideal temperature: 18–28°C (perfect for Malta).
Enjoys moderate humidity but adapts well to indoor air.
🚫🐕🐈 Pet Safety
⚠️ Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested (calcium oxalate crystals).
Keep out of reach of pets and children.
🌬️ Air Purifying ✅
Excellent air-purifying plant, helping remove indoor pollutants.
🌿 Additional Notes
Remove yellow or damaged leaves promptly.
If roots turn brown or slimy → change water immediately.
Can be transferred back to soil if needed, but hydroponic growth is long-term safe.
Ideal for offices, hotels, reception areas, and modern homes.
