🌷 Anemone Blanda Blue – 100 Bulbs

Create a carpet of spring colour with Anemone Blanda Blue, also known as the Grecian Windflower. Its blue, daisy-like flowers have bright yellow centres and sit above finely divided green foliage. This low-growing plant looks lovely in groups along borders, beneath shrubs or in pots.

🪴 Planting Instructions

• When to plant: Autumn, once the weather and soil begin to cool

• Soil: Well-drained soil enriched with compost. For pots, use a free-draining potting mix.
• Planting method: Soak the dry tubers in water for several hours before planting. If the growing point is difficult to identify, place them on their sides. Plant in groups for a fuller display.

💧 Watering

Water after planting and keep the soil lightly moist during active growth, without allowing it to become waterlogged. Reduce watering as the foliage yellows. The tubers need a dry resting period during summer.

Grow in sun or partial shade. In Malta, a spot with morning sunshine and light afternoon shade is a practical choice, particularly in pots. Avoid deep shade and poorly drained areas.

🌿 Feeding

Mix compost into the soil before planting. Plants in good garden soil usually need little extra feeding. In pots, apply a balanced liquid fertilizer occasionally during active growth, following the product instructions.

🍃 After Flowering

Allow the foliage to yellow and dry naturally before removing it. The plant becomes dormant after its spring display, so disappearing leaves are normal.

Leave the tubers planted where drainage is good and summer conditions remain relatively dry. Clumps may gradually spread over time.

Wait for cooler autumn conditions before planting. Keep the growing area away from frequent summer irrigation, as dormant tubers dislike prolonged dampness. Pots are useful where garden soil holds too much winter rain.

Not pet safe. Harmful if eaten, so keep plants and tubers away from cats and dogs. The sap may also irritate skin; wear gloves when handling.
