💧 Watering
Water once every 7–10 days, keeping soil consistently moist but never waterlogged.
In Malta’s summer heat, watering may be needed every 5–7 days.
In winter, reduce watering; allow the top 3–4 cm of soil to dry slightly.

☀️ Sunlight
Prefers bright, indirect light.
Tolerates light shade; avoid direct sun, especially strong midday Maltese sun.
Ideal for bright interiors, shaded balconies, and sheltered patios.

🍃 Foliage / Growth
Large, shield-shaped leaves with dark green to nearly black tops and purple-burgundy undersides.
Upright growth; can reach 1.2–1.5 m in pots.
Grown mainly for its foliage; flowering is rare and insignificant.

🪴 Potting Mix
Use a rich, well-draining, airy mix: indoor potting soil + perlite + orchid bark.
Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot.

🌿 Fertilizer
Feed every 3–4 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
Stop feeding in winter.
