💧 Watering
Water regularly during the growing season and through the peak of summer to keep the soil consistently moist. Once established, they can tolerate some drought, but a lack of water will result in fewer blooms.

☀️ Light
These sun-lovers crave full sun to produce the most vibrant flowers, though they appreciate some light afternoon shade during Malta’s most intense July heat. In deep shade, the plant will grow lush leaves but fail to flower.

🍃 Foliage / Growth
It features thick, strap-like green leaves that form dense, attractive clumps. Depending on the variety, they can range from compact border plants to tall, dramatic focal points reaching up to a meter in height.

🪴 Potting Mix
They prefer a rich, loamy potting soil that retains some moisture but drains well. Interestingly, Agapanthus often blooms better when its roots are slightly “snug” or pot-bound.

🌿 Fertilizer
Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer or a high-potash feed (like tomato food) every two weeks from spring until the flower buds begin to open. Avoid over-fertilizing with nitrogen, as this promotes leaves over flowers.

❌🐕🐈 Pet Safety
Agapanthus is considered toxic to pets if ingested, potentially causing mouth irritation and digestive upset. The sap can also be a skin irritant, so it is best handled with care.

🌬️ Air Purifying
While primarily grown outdoors or in well-ventilated terraces, its dense foliage helps filter dust and improves local air quality. It is not typically categorized as a primary indoor air purifier.
