💧 Watering

Water when the top 2–3cm of soil feels dry. Keep lightly moist but avoid waterlogging.

☀️ Light

Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its variegation. Protect from Malta’s strong direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.

🍃 Foliage / Growth

Produces large, highly variegated leaves and develops an upright, bushy habit. Warm conditions and moderate humidity encourage healthy growth.

🪴 Potting Mix

Use a rich, well-draining houseplant mix with added perlite or orchid bark. Good drainage is essential.

🌿 Fertilizer

Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted balanced fertilizer. Reduce feeding in winter.

🐕🐈 Pet Safety

Toxic to cats and dogs. Its calcium oxalate crystals can cause mouth irritation, drooling, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing if eaten.

🌬️ Air Purifying

Sometimes promoted as air-purifying, but its effect in normal indoor conditions is limited. It is best valued for its decorative foliage.
