Description

Lentil sprouts can easily be grown in water. Lentils are sweet, crunchy, and easy to use in sweet or savory dishes; they are also delicious in dressings or cooked in soup. Before use, simply immerse them briefly in hot water or stir-fry them. They are rich in vitamins A, B, C, and E.

Sprinkle the seeds in a thin layer on the seed tray and rinse gently under the tap. Fill the glass bowl with water up to the bottom of the tray and place it on the windowsill at normal room temperature (20-22°C). Change the water daily.
You can also fill an empty butter container with wet cotton wool and sprinkle the seeds on top. Keep the cotton wool well moistened, and you can enjoy your own home-grown sprouts. After 5 days, the sprouts (which will then be 3-5 cm long) can be eaten.
Extending the growing time by a few days will result in more leaves on the sprouts. The sprouts can be kept in the refrigerator for about a week without losing their healthy properties.
