Bring a crisp, cool elegance to your garden with Agapanthus ‘White’. This stunning perennial produces large, globe-shaped clusters of pure white trumpet-shaped flowers that sit atop sturdy, architectural stems. The brilliant white blooms provide a sharp, clean contrast against the lush green, strap-like foliage. It is a timeless choice that adds a sense of luxury and calm to any Maltese landscape.

Key Features for Malta:

Sun-Loving & Resilient: This plant thrives in the intense Maltese sunshine, making it a reliable performer for high-summer color.

Modern Garden Aesthetic: The pure white blooms are perfect for contemporary garden designs, white-themed borders, or for brightening up shaded-looking corners in full sun.

Drought Tolerant: Once established, it has excellent water-wise properties, standing up well to the dry Maltese summer months.

Perfect for Large Planters: Agapanthus blooms best when its roots are slightly constricted, making it an ideal candidate for stylish pots on terraces, balconies, or poolside.

Beautiful Cut Flower: The long, leafless stems and long-lasting flower heads are a favorite for elegant indoor floral arrangements.

Expert Tips for Growing Agapanthus in Malta:

Placement: Choose a position in full sun to ensure maximum flower production. In very exposed, windy areas, provide a little shelter to keep the tall flower stems upright.

Planting in Pots: Use a well-draining potting mix. Ensure the pot has good drainage holes to prevent water from sitting around the roots during the winter.

Watering: Water regularly during the first growing season until established. Once mature, it is quite drought-tolerant but will appreciate a deep soak during the hottest weeks of August.

Feeding: Apply a high-potash fertilizer (such as tomato food) once a month during the spring and summer to encourage larger and more frequent flower heads.

Aftercare: Remove spent flower heads by cutting the stem at the base to keep the plant looking tidy and to direct energy back into the roots for next year.

Color: Pure White.

Bloom Time: July – September.

Height: 60 – 90 cm.

Planting Time: March – May.
