Description

💧 Watering
Keep soil consistently moist but never waterlogged.
Water 2–3 times per week in warm months and weekly in winter.
Use rainwater or filtered water if possible, as Camellias dislike high-lime tap water.

☀️ Sunlight
Prefers bright, indirect light or partial shade.
In Malta, best placed in morning sun and afternoon shade or bright but sheltered patios.
Avoid harsh midday sun and strong winds, which can scorch leaves or buds.

🌸 Flowering / 🍃 Foliage
Blooms from late winter to early spring, producing large, layered flowers in red, pink, or white.
Evergreen with glossy, dark green leaves.
Excellent as a feature shrub or container plant for shaded gardens.

🪴 Potting Mix
Requires acidic, well-draining soil (pH 5.5–6.5).
Use ericaceous compost or a mix of peat, pine bark, and perlite.
Ensure good drainage; roots dislike standing water.

🌿 Fertilizer
Feed every 4–6 weeks from spring to early autumn with an acid-loving plant fertilizer (azalea or rhododendron type).
Do not fertilize during flowering or dormancy (winter).
