Description

Choose a sunny location in the garden with well-drained, fertile soil to plant your rhubarb. Make sure the soil is well-loosened and enriched with compost or organic fertilizer for optimal growing conditions.

Dig planting holes large enough to accommodate the root ball of the rhubarb plants. Place the plants in the holes and fill with soil, making sure the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface.

Water the newly planted rhubarb generously to help the roots establish. Continue to water the plants regularly, especially during dry spells, to ensure the soil remains moist.

Rhubarb is a robust plant that requires little maintenance. Regularly remove weeds around the plants and apply a layer of compost annually to keep the soil fertile.

With proper care and attention, your rhubarb will provide you with delicious stalks that can be used in pies, compotes, jams and more. Be careful though, as only the stalks are edible – the leaves are poisonous and should be avoided.
