Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Pepper
Origin: Native to the village of Moruga in Trinidad and Tobago.
Heat Level (SHU): Ranges from 1,200,000 to 2,000,000 SHU.
Comparison: It can be up to 800 times hotter than a jalapeño.
Appearance: Small, bulbous, with a distinctive stinger-like tail. The skin is wrinkled and pockmarked.
Flavor: Despite its intense heat, it has a fruity flavor with hints of citrus and apricot.
Uses: Popular in extreme hot sauces, salsas, and spicy food challenges.
Interesting Fact: It was crowned the world’s hottest chili pepper by the Guinness World Records in 2012. The record is now held by Pepper X.
