Origin: The exact origin is unknown, but it is commonly grown in East Texas, Louisiana, and parts of Mexico.

Comparison: It can be up to 9 times hotter than a jalapeño.
Appearance: Known for its distinctive phallic shape, the pepper is approximately 3 to 4 inches long and 1 to 1.5 inches wide when fully mature12. It ripens to a bright red color.
Flavor: Bright, sweet, and slightly pungent.
Uses: Commonly used in salsas, pickling, and chili pepper recipes.
Can be used as a substitute for jalapeño or serrano peppers.
