Description
Indications and Recommendations
It is a complementary food for adult parrots of the Loriini tribe. It is rich in good quality protein and contains pollen and hisbiscus flower.
It is advisable to supply it simultaneously with Nectar Loris. Both products complement each other and must be offered in separate containers. The birds will ingest more or less quantity of one or another product depending on their nutritional needs. Both Loris Gel and Loris Nectar can be offered dry and / or mixed with water. Using dry products improves stool consistency.
If Gel Loris and Nectar Loris are mixed with water, the mixture should have the consistency of a creamy porridge. The right amount should be prepared to be consumed in a short space of time to prevent it from fermenting and becoming contaminated.
It is recommended to supplement with fresh fruit and vegetables in order to provide variety to the diet.
When there are chicks to feed in the nest, it is recommended that the birds also have the Neonatal porridge for Frugivores or the porridge for Loris at their disposal (depending on the age of the chicks).
As a guide, these birds ingest between 8 and 16 g of dry gel and nectar for every 100 g of weight.
